Participation through dissent: a chance to transform the social body? DO NOT APPROVE is a meeting where Cote Jaña Zuñiga, Ligia Lewis, Nach, Wojciech Grudziński investigate the issues of consent and dissent.

We will reflect on situations where individual and collective dissent can become a starting point for social change, paying attention to symbolic gestures and their transgressive potential. We will discuss the creation of new forms of social coexistence on the periphery of a dominant culture and why it is so important to question dominant cultures and narratives. Finally, we will consider how resistance is born and how cultural and creative work can be useful in creating new models of social coexistence.

BIO

Chiara Organtini is a curator and project manager. She collaborates with Santarcangelo Festival as coordinator of the international cooperation project BE PART – Art BEyond PARTicipation. She is director of Lavanderia a Vapore, Casa Europea della Danza and the Artistic Residencies Centre of the Piedmont Region.
